From a Jack to a King

There is a blast from the past happy days theme to this CD album. The album is a tribute to the chap in the pub we went to at Manchester University (no idea what his name was) but he gave me money to put songs on the juke box as long as one of them was 'From a Jack to a King'. This was many moons ago and the pub no longer exists, but thank you Sir, for introducing a great track into my repertoire.The track from the Everly Brothers are covered, 'Cathy's Clown' which is very apt as we have just lost Don Everly so now with Phil gone too, they are harmonising in the great jukebox in the sky together now. Back to Glam Rock with a cover of Mud's 'Crazy' and 'One night' (also done by Elvis). The trusted Elvis covers of 'I don't want to be tied' and 'The wonder of you'' are also present. I slipped in a Dave Edmund's cover of 'Baby face'. To celebrate the day of my 64th Birthday I have recorded a version of 'When I'm sixty-four' originally performed by the Beatles, and thought, oh why not record 'Ob-la-di ob-la-da' as well, as it is such a happy sound. We were hoping for summer this year, but it never arived, however, I reoirded a cover of Bobby Goldsboro's 'Hello summertime'. Loving the version of 'Calendar Boy', originally by Neil Sedaka, as it was a joyful track. Hope you enjoy these and the rest of the tracks!
